Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Hyde Park with music-themed decor and record players in every room. The service and restaurant are top notch, and the rooms are comfortable with great views. Highly recommended.
The Sophy is a 5-Star stay. We were able to get a special package that aligned with the week we would be in Chicago at the Obama Presidential Center; the website recommends it for good reason. The location is at the heart of Hyde Park, and in walking distance to restaurants, entertainment, grocers, and shopping. From the moment you step into the lobby, the service is courteous and professional. The atmosphere is definitely upscale: The artwork impressive; the food tasty and served in a timely manner; the room pristine. The room has a turntable and QR Code to an on-demand music library. The minor thing to request if you can get it is having an upper room. The 3rd floor view out is into the neighbors' back porch instead of the sky. (Because we were able to check in a little early after a 25-hour road trip, having the room--and a really nice room--was good enough.) From check-in until departure, the stay is very pleasant. The staff is excellent and will recommend several food attractions. I was also quite impressed one morning to see "Wet" signs on the fabric of all the lobby furniture after a shampooing; nice attention to detail. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends as the location is perfect. I'll be back.

Beautiful hotel and staff was awesome. I was there for work training and was expecting your normal shitty free breakfast that most hotels provide but omg was their food delicious. The attention to details to the rooms was what I took with me the most. The record player and library of music you could get. The cleanliness and art was refreshing and modern. I really hope my work continues to use them as our go to when we have these trainings. Even our parking QR code issues we had were forgiving because the staff was on it and provided us with the easiest and fast way so as not to have issues when leaving the garage. My only complaint was that I wish I could have had a mountain of the espresso pods they provided because I could have lived just off of those my stay. Can't wait to stay here again.
